Gabriele Pro

Appointed “one of the most exciting young names on the early music scene” (One to Watch) by Gramophone magazine, Gabriele Pro is establishing himself on the international stage as a leading figure of the new generation of Baroque violinists. He earned a Master’s degree in Baroque violin with highest honors and special distinction under the guidance of Enrico Onofri. He also holds a degree in Musicology from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

His concert activity has led him to perform as a soloist or principal player at major festivals and concert seasons across Europe, Asia, and the United States, including: MA Festival Brugge, MITO Settembre Musica, Resonanzen Wien, Festival de Saint-Denis, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Boston Early Music Festival, Muziekcentrum De Bijloke (Ghent), Filarmonica Romana, and the Monteverdi Festival. He has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles, among them: Le Concert des Nations, Accademia Bizantina, Il Giardino Armonico, Academia Montis Regalis, Ensemble Zefiro, Enea Barock Orchestra, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Romano, and La Fonte Musica.

He has collaborated with and been conducted by internationally renowned musicians such as Jordi Savall, Enrico Onofri, Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Alfredo Bernardini, Antonio Florio, Alessandro Quarta, Fabio Biondi, and Dmitry Sinkovsky, performing in major concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Concertgebouw, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Elbphilharmonie, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Theater an der Wien, Pierre Boulez Saal, Teatro Carlo Felice, and Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. He has recorded for Sony, Glossa, Passacaille, Alpha, Alia Vox, Arcana, Christophorus, Tactus, Dynamic, Brilliant, as well as for radio broadcasters Rai, ORF, WDR, BR-Klassik, and NTR.

In 2025 he was appointed Musical Director of the international project Junges Musikpodium. He is the founder and musical director of Ensemble Anima&Corpo, with which he has released two albums on the Arcana – Outhere Music label: Golden Strings, dedicated to violin sonatas by Giovanni Mossi and Antonio Montanari, and Arianna in Rome with soprano Carlotta Colombo.
